We are approaching the end of the first Greyhound Trader online auction of 2026 and there has been a steady approach to bidding from buyers so far.

Topping the sale at the current state of play is the wildcard entry AMATCH who came in to replaced Theyreallwaiting. A July 2024 bitch who trialled in 28.97 at Cork on Saturday night, this daughter of King Sheeran was sure to be popular even with the limited time and this has been the case with a bid of £4450 standing on her. There has been 5 different bidders on her and it looks likely that this lady will be placed on the market and have a new owner by 6pm this evening.

Closely following price was is PARKVIEW TOMMY whose bid stands at £3600. A March 2024 son of Ballymac Bolger who won his last race at Cork in 28.63, he looks like an ideal greyhound to take to the Maiden Derby before the English Derby itself at Towcester. Bidding will have to ramp up a little more for someone to get a hold of this fella however.

The Greyhound Trader pick of the sale is the November 2024 whelp TROMORA LIZZIE. A fawn daughter of Dromana Bucko who qualified on Wednesday at Limerick in 29.28 for her first official mark, we thought she was exceptionally well priced and only requires a little more of an upgrade on the current £2250 bid to find a new home this evening. She has so far attracted the most individual bidders with 6.

The Ballyregan and Pomba bitches are definitely worth a closer look, particularly Sally and Flo who both offer ideal characteristics for certain requirements. BALLYREGAN SALLY is a stout stayer and will make a great asset for kennels running over 500m. Her bidding stands at £1100 as of 2pm. POMBA FLO is an early paced wide runner who again would fit ideally into many a kennel at 480m or less. She closely is making £1050 but perhaps both deserve more appreciation.

GIZMO ALPHA is a greyhound who is 2 from 3 for the McGee kennel. Bred for early pace, his times at Lifford have been eye-catching and he could make a nice Sunderland Puppy Cup candidate being a September 2024 whelp. His owners will need more than £1450 to part with this greyhound which they hold in high regard.

SUNNYSIDE GURKHA is already proven as this venue and could be a candidate for Romford on a Friday. His bid will have to go way beyond £1550. The other UK-based entrant OPTIC PHARAOH would suit someone looking for a quick and cheaper way into the English Greyhound Derby. A runner in last year’s event and with 29.38 winning form around Towcester he would be far from written off in the draw. £1000 won’t be enough to buy him.

Remember bidding ends at 6pm this evening on greyhoundtrader.com!
