October Online Auction Update — Epic Evie Leads The Way As Bidding Heats Up

October Online Auction Preview

GREYHOUND Trader’s October Online Auction has attracted plenty of interest so far, with buyers responding well to what has been described as our strongest selection of greyhounds offered together this year.

Several of the leading lots have already attracted six or seven different bidders, highlighting the level of competition across the catalogue as the auction enters its final stages.

Topping the sale at the time of writing is EPIC EVIE, who is currently making £14,250. An April 2025 bitch who made headlines online after recording a scintillating 28.82 (-40) in her unraced qualifying trial at Thurles, Evie has been generously made available to the open market by the Kennedy family. Five bidders have already registered their interest, and with such an exciting young prospect on offer, further competition could develop as the closing time approaches.

Next in the bidding is LUNA DASH, currently making £7,050. A March 2025 daughter of Good News, she extended her unbeaten record to three wins last night with an impressive 28.40 (+20) victory at Tralee. Offered by Pat Norris, Luna looks to have a bright future ahead of her, with seven bidders already competing for the opportunity to secure her.

A number of high-class performers are closely grouped behind her. AMIDUS HULK is currently making £6,051, with six bidders showing interest in the May 2024 son of The Other Kobe. A former 28.18 winner at Shelbourne Park, Hulk has already demonstrated his ability in open company and looks an exciting prospect for connections seeking a dog with the early pace to compete at a high level.

Also attracting significant attention is STONEPARK BROWNE, who is currently making £5,800. Arguably one of Ireland’s leading sprinters, Browne holds the Limerick track record with his sensational 18.12 performance and also boasts times of 18.33 at Shelbourne Park and 17.30 at Cork. With six bidders involved so far, this is a proven top-class performer whose potential targets could include the National Sprint at Nottingham.

RAZLDAZL CUDDLES has attracted seven bidders and is currently making £5,500. An April 2025 daughter of Ballymac Best, she made an immediate impression with her 28.60 debut victory at Shelbourne Park. Having already demonstrated such natural ability at a young age, Cuddles is an exciting prospect with plenty of scope to progress.

Completing this leading group is ZACONEY MONTANA, currently making £5,800 from four bidders. The October 2024 son of Ballymac Cashout recently won the prestigious Kasko unraced stake at Thurles, showing determination and a strong burst of pace to overcome trouble in the final. With further improvement expected, Montana is another young performer who could have plenty more to offer.

Interestingly, the greyhound attracting the joint-highest number of individual bidders so far is BEAMING OLIVIA, with eight bidders taking her current price to £2,000. A daughter of Deerjet Sydney, Olivia completed a hat-trick of victories with a convincing win over 750 yards at Limerick last night. Her strong finishing style and demonstrated stamina make her an appealing prospect for UK connections looking towards longer distances.

This year’s Tipperary Cup winner INDIAN MIST has attracted five bidders and is currently making £4,100.. A proven competition winner with impressive recent form, he offers buyers the opportunity to acquire an established performer with further major competitions potentially in his sights.

His kennel mate FLEETING MOMENT also enhanced his profile last night, recording 28.47 at Shelbourne Park. Currently making £1,550 with six bidders involved, the March 2023 son of Coolavanny Calvn has nine Irish wins to his name and brings valuable experience of competing in major competitions. His explosive early pace and proven ability make him an interesting option for those looking to target the UK Open-race scene.

Two more bitches attracting attention are RAZLDAZL ROBYN, currently making £3,500, and ORCHID BELLE, at £3,000. Both have attracted three bidders so far and offer different appeals: Robyn is a young prospect from a high-class litter with potential to develop over further distances, while Belle has already demonstrated her ability with race-winning form at Tralee and Limerick.

There is also plenty of scope for buyers looking towards the younger end of the market. August 2025 litter-sisters TROMORA CHERISH and TROMORA MOUSE are currently making £1,900 and £1,100 respectively. Both are just 14 months old and have already recorded winning trials, with Cherish particularly impressive when winning by 12 lengths at Galway. Their strong staying pedigree and considerable time for development make them worth a closer look for anyone interested in investing in a young prospect.

Among the UK-entered greyhounds, DROOPYS PACKAGE has attracted the most interest so far, with an impressive joint-highest of eight bidders taking his current price to £1,550. A son of Droopys Flytline with winning form over both sprint and four-bend distances, he looks increasingly likely to find a new home this evening. ZENITH SUNRISE is the first greyhound to reach the market, currently selling for £510.

With bidding continuing across the catalogue, there remains a variety of opportunities, from established Open-race performers and proven competition winners to exciting youngsters with plenty of potential still to unlock.

The auction closes at 6pm this evening. Buyers are encouraged to revisit the catalogue, review the latest bids and ensure their bids are placed in good time. To be best placed to secure a greyhound, you must be the highest bidder when bidding closes.
