Trade was steady in the first Greyhound Trader online auction of 2026 with just three greyhounds finding new homes.
Topping the sale was the latecomer AMATCH who was added to the auction as a replacement. She trialled at Cork during the auction period and recorded a smart 28.97 for her current owner/trainer Pat Norris. The July 2024 daughter of King Sheeran attracted plenty of interest in her near 24 hour period and eventually the hammer fell at £4450. She heads across the sea on Wednesday to join trainer Adrian Rawlings and will have her name changed to Ashway Jessie.
TROMORA LIZZIE also will be on the same journey over from Ireland having sold for £2700. The young November 2024 bitch looks a very promising type having trialled around Limerick in 29.28 earlier in the month and she joins the ranks of Monmore trainer Kim Billingham-Hine.
The already UK-based REBEL GEORGE was the third greyhound to sell. He made £2050 to first-time owners and will remain under the care of Tom Helibron.
Sales totalled to £9200 for the weekend at a clearance rate of 21%.
