There is some exciting news for fans of Greyhound Racing in England as the star Irish marathon performer Ballymac Katie will be joining the training ranks of Kevin Hutton in Oxfordshire.
A member of the fantastic Ballymac Anton-Ballymac Merkle litter, Katie has stamped her status as one of the most exciting 6 and 8 bend trackers around with DD0 form aplenty in Ireland.
A finalist of the Deadly Kennels Open 750 and Corn Cuchulainn, Katie has created a reputation of her own for her strong finishing performances and none were better than her 750y win on Irish Derby final night in 41.21.
Again a winner at Shelbourne Park, she defeated Jacktavern Bella in the well-anticipated Dublin vs Kerry match race worth €1000 to the winner,
Katie has previous form in England, having won in the 1st round of the England St Leger at Perry Barr in 43.31 ahead of Savana Jazz and also competing in the recent TV Trophy at Oxford.
Now set to reside in the UK with less travelling and more consistent distance races, we could yet see further improvement from Katie who will add to the existing talented pool of marathon performers including her litter-sister Ballymac Taylor, Bubbly Inferno and Savana Jazz.
Immediate plans for Katie have been set at the Dorando Marathon race on English Derby final night.
We wish her new owners every success with her!
