There is yet another exciting weekend of racing ahead for those at Greyhound Trader with two special finals set to take place at Perry Barr and Hove.
First up, Greyhound Trader will be hoping to provide back-to-back winners of the Hove Puppy Cup, which was won last year by the Towcester Pre-Derby sales purchase Ballymac John.
Following the same path as John is GOOD COUTURE who was purchased for only £2700 in this years edition of the Towcester Pre-Derby Sales. Having recorded 29.76 in her trial, the daughter of Good News and Portumna Marina made her debut in the Semi-Final heats of this competition and could be open to plenty of improvement still.
Also competing in the £5000 final is private purchase BALLYMAC ZARI (pictured). Bought for a relatively small sum from the famed Ballymac kennels of Liam Dowling, this daughter of Ballymac Cooper and Ballymac Arminta has defied all expectations having already won 4 open races despite being a July 2022 still. With plenty of experience and ability to match, Zari is likely to go off second favourite from Trap 6.
For our friends at Premier Greyhound Sales, DROOPYS DIALOGUE also runs for trainer David Dark having been sold for £3500 at the November 2023 Hove Sales. A son of Droopys Sydney and Droopys Fia, he has looked at home at Hove winning his last 5 of 6 and certainly is one who cannot be ruled out at 7/1.
Elsewhere on Saturday night is the Arena Racing Company Laurels worth £12,500 to the winner.
Representing Greyhound Trader is BRICKWORK RUCK (formerly Droopys Ruck), who was sold in the 2023 Towcester Pre-Derby Sales for £2300 having won his trial by a length in 30.46.
A son of Dorotas Wildcat and Droopys Zero, Ruck has some solid form to name including 29.48 Doncaster (483m) and 28.25 Perry Barr (480m). Lining up from Trap 5, his odds of 10/1 make him an outsider but as everyone knows, anything can happen in finals!
Greyhound Trader wishes each greyhound and their owners the best of luck this weekend!
