The Greyhound Trader online auction for July saw a disappointing set of results with only three greyhounds finding new owners.
Topping the sale was the unraced September 2024 son of Swords Rex, Sallagh Goofy, who sold for £4950 to the kennels of Jim Daly at Nottingham. Having qualified in 28.83 at Newbridge on the morning of the auction starting, he clearly caught the attention of bidders and looks likely to be targeted at the upcoming Puppy Classic at the midlands venue.
Another to sell was the stunning November 2024 pup Daring Casper. A two-time winning son of Droopys Got, he attracted enough interest to in fact exceed his reserve price and was eventually sold for £3700. He has been sold to a first time site-buyer.
Lastly, Roaming Diallo sold for £1300 and will join the graded ranks at Dunstall Park. We wish all three greyhounds and their new connections the best of luck.
It was a shame not to have sold the hugely exciting January 2025 bitch Droopys Teaser who looks a fantastic prospect for the future but we will be closely following her future endeavours as one who slipped the net just like Ballymac Duffle proved this year with his performances in the English Greyhound Derby.
