The July instalment of the Greyhound Trader monthly online auction’s is now approaching the closing stages and there is plenty of action to report about so that prospective bidders can get an idea of what may come for sale or not.
Of most interest to the public so far has been both Droopys Teaser and Gothic Abbess, who have both attracted 8 different bidders.
The young January 2025 bitch Droopys Teaser is currently making £8600 in the auction as of 1.30pm which is a good bit below her reserve but things could get interesting if the bidding reaches 5-figures. A debut winner at Shelbourne Park in 28.63 when just 17 months old, she is one of the most exciting prospects we’ve presented for sale this year with the potential to step up to 6-bends in the future.
Gothic Abbess is already in the UK running over 6-bends to a good level in Opens and thus has attracted bidding to the amount of £3050. Again she is falling short of her reserve, but when a sale is a must then there is potential for business to be done if the bidding makes a reasonable figure which is surely more than her current bid.
Next on the list with 7 different people making a bid for him is Daring Casper. The November 2024 son of Droopys Got It has won 2 from 4 and looks a nice 500m prospect. The stunning black and white dog is currently making £2300 which isn’t too far off his reserve and so we would fully expect him to have a new owner by this evening.
From the same kennel is Daring Oreo who boasts some good form at Waterford with wins in 28.53, 28.54 and 28.55. The latest bid on him is £6350 which is quite far off his owners expectation having entered him into the Irish Juvenile Derby.
Tetra Destiny is another to have attracted plenty of bids with 5 different people pushing his value up to £1950. On the slightly older side, he holds some rock solid form in Ireland with a recent 28.36 win at Cork and finishing 3rd in the 2025 Produce Stakes. He looks to be one for those hoping to go straight into competition territory.
One of the most interest entries was Sallagh Goofy who had his first qualifying mark on Friday morning at Newbridge, stopping the clock in 28.93 (-10). Currently making £3450, which seems on the cheap side for this unraced September 2024 son of Swords Rex who is a half brother of Singalong Dolly, he deserves to be making more which could then see he placed on the market for sale.
Last of all another to attract interest has been Roaming Diallo who comes from a proven vendor of quality. An unraced dog with qualifying form at Cork to his name, there has been 3 different bidders for him and the price now stands at £1251. A few more bids and he could be another with a new owner this evening.
Don’t forget that bidding for all greyhounds end at 6pm this evening and for those not making their reserve, the highest bidder will be given the first opportunity to secure that greyhound so make sure to place a bid on those you’re interested in!
