November Online Auction Preview

There is a full catalogue of 20 greyhounds entered for the November edition of the Greyhound Trader online auctions.

Included are a mix of raced and unraced greyhounds with attention being drawn particularly to Bahamian (28.79 SPK), Radical Story (17.07 KKY) and Thunder Dance (28.79 SPK). The auction begins at 6pm on Friday and ends 48 hours later on Sunday 2nd November.

Below is a preview of each greyhound in alphabetical order:

(1) Bahamian – June 2024 unraced bitch bred Tommy Shelby x Magnetism who qualified last weekend at Shelbourne Park in a very promising 28.79. Dam proven with performers such as Pragmatism (28.47 Thurles) and Clona Bingo (28.52 Cork). This lady looks to be following along the same footsteps which will lead her to open class company.

(2) Brackile Jess – November 2023 daughter of Deerjet Sydney and Banter Breeze who is a half-sister to star UK stayer Mongys Wild. Hasn’t found luck in her 3 races yet but it is worth considering her 19.18 trial at Limerick as well as a 29.37 attempt over 525y. Jess clearly has more to show with her future suspected to be over a distance.

(3) Brackile Rafa – Full-brother to Jess above, he neither has shown his full capabilities in his two races to date. A 29.34 winning trial at Limerick stand out whilst he was noted as running on strongly in his last race.

(4) Cluendarby Jet – March 2024 lady who is a 2-time winner at Thurles in times of 29.81 and 29.87. Bred Ballyhimikin Jet x Da Centurion, this is a bitch who looks better suited for the 480-500m venues of the UK and will prove to be a valuable grader with age still very much on her side.

(5) Deelish Lily – October 2023 unraced bitch who went unsold at the recent Oxford sales. On that particular day she won her trial by 5 1/4 lengths in 27.61 but her owner thought a bit more of her than that which can be justified by her 29.06 trial at Cork at the start of October.

(6) Grouchos Champ – November 2023 son of Grangeview Ten and Glideaway Magic who is graded AA0 in Ireland following his stunning 29.69 victory at Shelbourne Park over 550y on 17th October. This sort of time would mix it with those in the Derby and Champ wasn’t in the mood to stop there as he followed up one week later over 575y with another victory at Shelbourne Park again.

(7) Hawkfield Creed – May 2024 unraced dog by Ballyhimikin Jet and Hawkfield Mia who is a full-sister to Irish sprinter of the year Hawkfield Ozark. This is the dams first litter with Creed due to trial officially over the weekend.

(8) Hawkfield Fury – May 2024 unraced white and black dog bred Good News x Brownstown Tango with no form to name yet. Fury is a repeat mating full-brother to Hawkfield Blue who was a 28.04 winner at Shelbourne Park. If breeding is to go by this dog will be expected to go well in his official trial this weekend.

(9) Hawkfield Impact – Full-sister to Creed above who similarly will be given an official trial this weekend.

(10) Negroni – July 2023 dog who was a winner in August at Limerick in 28.75 (+10). A son of King Sheeran and Cherrygrove Ivy, he also has previous winning form such as 29.12 Thurles and 29.09 Clonmel.

(11) Nitro Nova – November 2023 daughter of Grangeview Ten who won on her second outing at Clonmel in 29.27 in an ON2 bitch stake. Her dam Ballydoyle Grace comes from the famed Fear Emoski line which makes Nova an interesting racing and breeding prospect for the future.

(12) Parkview Sprite – February 2023 son of Magic Sprite who produced a career best performance on the 10th October when winning at Cork by 5 lengths in 28.36. A strong running type, Sprite also has winning AA0 form over 575y at the same venue back in May and should be competing at open level in the UK.

(13) Pomba Gladys – June 2024 daughter of Tommy Shelby and Pragmatism who won on her 2nd start at Clonmel in 29.06. Just 16 months old, this was an impressive performance from the well-bred youngster with plenty of improvement expected still.

(14) Princess Eoin – June 2024 unraced bitch who qualified two weeks ago at Shelbourne Park in 29.50. Bred Orchestrate x Dark Ava, her dam was 28.36 at Shelbourne as well a DD0 winner over 6-bends in Ireland. Breeding suggests this lady will make an exciting stayer in time.

(15) Radical Story – March 2024 unraced son of Ballymac Cashout who has just one qualifying sprint to his name which was 17.07 at Kilkenny. Litter-brother Radical Dreamer has qualified at Shelbourne Park in 28.47. Story is due to trial this weekend at the same venue with a similar performance expected.

(16) Raparee Yulia – July 2023 bitch who is currently running A1 at Swindon. She has won 2 of her last 3 races at the venue in times of 29.43 and 29.46 showing good early pace on both occasions. Ready-made top grader / minor open greyhound already located in the UK.

(17) Sunnyside Gurkha – August 2023 son of Serene Ace and Ballymac Tam who is already a 7-times open race winner at Sunderland. A winner in 26.83, Gurkha has sensational early pace with his older sibling Eze the track record holder over 45om at Oxford.

(18) Thunder Dance – March 2024 son of Coolavanny Hoffa and Newinn Peaches who has won 3 from 5 including a latest 28.79 at Shelbourne Park where he took up proceedings at the 3rd bend to win by 3 lengths. He ran in similar fashion to win at Mullingar in 29.39 in September suggesting this well bred dog could be ideal for the English Puppy Derby at Towcester. Dam Newinn Peaches is a full-sister to Irish Derby winner Newinn Taylor.

(19) Tromora Heart – June 2024 unraced bitch who trialled last Wednesday at Limerick in a promising 29.41, winning her first official trial by 9 lengths. A daughter of Good Cody and Tromora Palm who comes from the famed Coolavanny line, this was an encouraging start to life for Heart who could prove to be a valuable grader being just 16 months old still.

(20) Uisce Beatha – October 2023 dog who trialled back in on Wednesaday at Kilkenny in an impressive 16.65 (-10) for the sprint distance. He looks to be running at his best, clocking a career best 28.51 at Cork in August when beaten just 1 1/2 lengths in the final of a valuable A3 stake. Beatha also has 3 wins at Kilkenny including one in 29.27 to further enhance his reputation.
