The May Online Auction is in full swing and just 4 hours remains until the bidding period closes.
With the addition of the wildcard entry, there are 21 greyhounds available to bid on with a wide variety on offer from open class prospects such as El Mayo to a just 6 months old pup offered by Sean Conway.
Making the most money at the moment is the aforementioned El Mayo. The July 2024 son of Ballymac Cashout could not be in better form of recent and enhanced his profile during the auction with another win at Shelbourne Park on Friday night. Bidding for him currently stands at £8500 and there is a strong chance he will be sold come 6pm. So far there has been 6 different bidders for him.
The most popular greyhound however was the other Friday night winner Radical Dreamer. This March 2024 son of Ballymac Cashout won in the opening round of the Newbridge Derby over 550y and with form such as 28.47 at Shelbourne Park it is no surprise to see him fetching a current figure of £5600. There is good news for the 7 interested parties who have bid as he is ON THE MARKET at this price so will have a new owner this evening. The suggestion is that he will relish a step-up to 6-bends.
There is only one other greyhound to have had 7 different bidders which was the January 2024 bitch Sheezatwister. Graded AA0 in Ireland after a 28.48 effort at Limerick, she may not be far off selling at £2250.
Redentor and Accept Ordecline have seen steady bidding at £5100 and £4750 respectively. Two hugely exciting talents available to the public however bidding on these must improve significantly to even get a reaction from current connections who each rate them highly.
One of the most interesting lots for sale is Tromora Flare. A March 2024 daughter of Dorotas Wildcat which makes her just 14 months old, she qualified officially at Limerick on Thursday night winning her trial by 9 lengths in an impressive 29.11. At such a young age this is a phenomenal effort and there is no surprise to see she is making £4200 as of now. Off the guide price there is again a strong possibility she will be sold today.
Adamantly Chosen has been another with strong interest. This September 2024 bitch was a debut 29.50 winner at Thurles and is currently making £2550.
The strong running Ballintubberstar isn’t far off her reserve with the bidding at £2000 currently. This daughter of Doolin Duke and Beaming Becca was a race winner over 575y at Cork last time out.
The fascinating Cloud Blue has also proven popular with bidding standing at £2050. Although she hasn’t won a race yet she finds herself in the Semi-Finals of an ongoing ON1 competition at Enniscorthy which offers a chance for buyers to continue her in at their request. That competition is worth €2500 with no stand-outs dominating the market.
Lastly the 6 month old Dorotas Wildcat x Droopys Smily pup has generated huge interest to both vendor and the site but the bidding hasn’t coincided with this yet. With 4 hours remaining I would suspect the current bid of £2500 could yet shoot up for this once in a while opportunity.
There are plenty more greyhounds available on the website too so make sure to check them out! Bidding ends at 6pm this evening.
