May Online Auction Results

May Online Auction Blog

Yet again Greyhound Trader played host to a successful online auction over the first weekend of May.

Topping the auction was EL MAYO who sold for a staggering £12,200 after an intense bidding war which carried on into overtime. It came as little surprise that interest was high for the July 2024 son of Ballymac Cashout and Droopys Nextone who has a 28.28 win at Shelbourne Park to name. He will head to the south of England and join the kennels of John Campbell who has already been successful in the past with previous online auction purchase Hard Done Boy.

RADICAL DREAMER (pictured) also sold for a figure of £6100. The strong running March 2024 whelp had won in the opening heat of the competitive Newbridge Derby but will be withdrawn as he heads to Hove under the care of trainer Gemma Byford. If she can get him to replicate his 28.47 Shelbourne Park then there should be plenty of fun to be had with him.

Perhaps the most intriguing lot of the sale was TROMORA FLARE who sold for £5500. Just a March 2025 whelp, she posted an exceptional 29.11 winning trial at Limerick in the week building towards the auction which clearly caught the eye of many who waited until the end to bid. She is set to remain in Ireland and commence her racing career there.

Her litter-sister TROMORA JESSE sold for £2000 off a 29.59 trial on the same evening and she will join the kennels of Esther Driver who also went to £3300 for SHEEZATWISTER.

Sean Conway maintained his 100% sales rate from online auctions having sold his exciting 6-month old pup (Dorotas Wildcat x Droopys Smily) for £3650. The young brindle dog will remain under his care until he begins his racing career.

In total, sales totalled to £39,750 at a clearance rate of 43%.
