The date has been set for the much anticipated Greyhound Trader Towcester ‘Pre-Derby’ Sales which is renowned for producing a high-quality sales catalogue.
The date of March 29th (Good Friday) was agreed with Towcester promoter Kevin Boothby ahead of the £175,000 English Greyhound Derby commencing on Thursday 23rd May.
With around 45 greyhounds expected to trial and be put up for auction on the date, you can expect a catalogue full of quality including both raced and unraced greyhounds ahead of the sports premiere event starting less than 2 months later.
James Corden of Greyhound Trader said “We can’t wait to host the Pre-Derby sales at Towcester again on March 29th. It’s the staple of our sales calendar and the one we look forward to most.
As ever, we are looking for quality over quantity for this sale and so preference will be given to unraced greyhounds qualified in ON1 standard in Ireland (sub 29.30s) and to raced greyhounds who have form of better than 29.00s on their card.
Whilst we massively appreciate our regular and loyal vendors, this sale will be open to everyone and there have already been a couple of expressions of interest from vendors looking to attend with one or two high-profile greyhounds.”
The catalogue for the Greyhound Trader Pre-Derby sales will be available to the public 7 days before (22nd March) and some of the previous graduates from this sale include Antigua Sugar, Antigua Lava, Savana Beau and Ballymac John.
