There are just 6 hours left of the September online auction and bidding is moving along on the vast majority of greyhounds.
At the top of the list is Hot Wood who was an unfortunate exit from the BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby having been bumped out the traps and at the first bend. Now “Woody” (as he is named) is ready to continue his racing career elsewhere with strong rumours of interest in him on the basis of targeting the All England Cup at Newcastle in the near future. Current bidding is at £2600 so will need to improve slightly still to make this a reality I would think.
Future stayer Ballymac Caradoc is currently at £5000 in the bidding which is a long way off his reserve price. A dog which Liam Dowling says will make a high-class stayer in the future with no hesitation, he could be one to stretch the budget on if you are wanting to experience the thrills of competing at the top.
Kennel companion Ballymac Cloon stands at £4050 and is similarly short of his reserve. A 3-times winner in Tralee for the Dowling team, Cloon is well-regarded at home and stands out as the type to take open ra
Drombeg Angel looks as if she could be one to hit the market soon. Standing at £1500, she could be a nice purchase having won last time out at Galway in 29.25. Glengar Nitro is in the very same position too and could be one for those looking to invest in the future.
There’s a small bit more work to do on Stringer (£3550) and Ballinabola Pixi (£2000) but they’re not a million miles away and could make into two shrewd additions if placed correctly with the expectations of running open class in the UK.
Bidding ends at 6pm this evening so be sure to keep a close eye on those you are interested in!
