The Greyhound Trader team head to Towcester on Monday 30th March 2026 for the latest instalment of their successful Pre – Derby sale.
The corresponding event has thrown up countless top class winners in previous years and with all greyhounds purchased through the sales either at the track , online or privately also being eligible to enter the Greyhound Trader Stakes with a prestigious £4000 final on English Derby Final night.
What better time to cast your eye on the catalogue with the hope of joining past winners of that event including the likes of previous Pre-Derby sales purchases Antigua Sugar and last year’s winner Radical Scoby?
It promises to be another hugely popular day at Towcester and as ever Mark Pierrepont has cast his expert eye upon the catalogue –

(1) CROSSFIELD CLARE – Just the sole sprint trial on the card of Clare in which she posted a hugely promising 1760 over Tralee’s 325 yard trip. An August 2024 daughter of McInerney out of the open class winning bitch Crossfield Linda she has every chance of making into a high class sort in her own right. Dam Linda recorded a sensational 2812 around Shelbourne Park whilst she counts the superstar UK sprint performer Crossfield Dusty amongst her litter mates. Linda is a proven producer of open class and Clare very much looks like she’s going to be another in that sphere whilst her future brood potential is clear to see.
(2) ALL ABOUT GLAM – September 2024 daughter of Ballymac Best out of Crafty Kokoro who is already a two time race winner from just three career starts. Dam Kokoro was a strong running lady on the track finishing third in the Irish Derby Final of 2022 whilst emerging victorious in the final of the Corn Cuchulainn the same year over the testing 750 yard trip at Shelbourne Park. I super bitch and she’s already been passing on that ability to her offspring with Glam herself coming from last to first on debut at Cork last month winning in 2917 before pulling further and further clear to the pick up whilst showing she’s far from devoid of early pace leading all the way around the same venue last time out in 2873. Has all the hallmarks of making into a strong and front running six bend bitch for the open scene.
(3) BOBSLEIGH ACT – July 2024 son of Tullymurry Act out of Bobsleigh Dream this strapping 77lb weight greyhound has a huge engine as demonstrated on just his second career start last time out. His qualifying trial of 2875 around Tralee is recorded by only pups with immense talent and it was easy to write off his well beaten debut run after encountering all kinds of trouble. Slowly away yet again on his last start he did all his best running late and though he looks like he’ll need a little bit of time to mature yet he looks destined for the open scene and will appreciate the galloping circuits of the UK. The best if very much yet to come and this lad falls firmly into the ‘could be anything’ category. This is the maiden litter of Bobsleigh Dream who was a strong running open class performer on the track and memorably landed the Irish St Leger around Limerick in 2022.
(4) BOBSLEIGH SHARK – June 2024 son of Glengar Bale out of Bobsleigh Pearl who put the experience gained in his first four career runs to good use when getting off the mark around Tralee in a low grade affair last time out. Strong running sort who will progress through the grades and gives every indication that there is plenty of improvement to come.
(5) DAIRYLAND DJ – Not a single mark on the card of this highly promising December 2024 son of Ballymac Cashout and Elite Crystal who was an open class winner on the track. Has put up some real decent efforts in his thus far lightly schooled training efforts and looks a nice prospect from a team well known for sending nice types to the UK sales.
(6) DAIRYLAND JOSE – Full brother to DJ with similar comments applying.
(7) UWOULDNTWOULDYA – Unraced November 2024 bitch by Pestana out of the maiden litter of Thisonesforyou an unraced daughter of Unlock Unlock. Has just the sole trial on her card in which she posted 1679 around Waterford but make no mistake her future lays over tough four bend trips where she is fully expected to make into an open / competition class performer. Rated highly by current connections she’s expected to perform well on sales day and is sure to have many eyes upon her.
(8) RAISE THE BEAT – Not a mark on the card of this July 2024 daughter of Signet Ace and Roanna Bess who was a finalist in the 2020 Irish Oaks. Well proven since retirement as a producer of open and competition class performers including the likes of Boylesports Bob who finished runner up in the English Derby Final of 2024 and reached the final of the Irish Derby in the same year. Raise The Beat has been schooling well enough and is expected to make into a nice graded sort but it’s her brood potential that will appeal to many.
(9) MY EYES ONLY – September 2024 lady by Droopys Flytline out of Million Dreams the proven dam of open class including Bubbly Shadow who ran up in the final of the Con & Anne Kirby Memorial in 2024. My Eyes Only was just narrowly touched off in a novice open 325 final at Lifford last weekend by kennel mate Gone To Draft but it was clear to see that this lady is the one with much more potential. Missing the break and running off around the bend it was to her extreme credit that she was eventually only beaten a neck before begging to pull clear on route to the pick up. Looks like she will only begin to show her best once stepped up to four bends and word from the shrewd Matthews team is that this lady is very much one for the open class division here in the UK.
(10) CLERMOUNT – Full brother to My Eyes Only and this lad hasn’t a mark on his card. Has been given plenty of time to mature and is a fair way behind his sister in his schooling so every chance that there is plenty to come for quite a while yet. Sales day trial will be informative.
(11) BALLINABOLA RUTH – Experienced February 2024 daughter of Glengar Bale out of Dolls Lady the proven producer of competition class greyhounds including superstar of the sport Ballinabola Ed. Already a four time race winner in Ireland Ruth possesses super early pace and posted 2871 around Limerick on debut last year. Form is a little way off that of late but came from just off the pace to win in 2923 around Enniscorthy last time out so she’s not too far away and if a move to a new kennel here in England can bring about a little of that super debut promise her new connections could very well find they have a bargain on their hands.
(12) DROOPYS MAP – Well proven early paced open class / top grade performer by Droopys Sydney out of Droopys Dancer. Six time race winner with a best of 2824 on the card around Shelbourne Park. Will suit anybody looking for a proven ready made sort who will go straight into open class.
(13) THATS GONE – Unraced November 2024 daughter of Pestana out of Thisonesforyou an unraced daughter of Unlock Unlock. Highly thought of young lady who has a bright future on the track and given her serious blood lines will appeal to many with a future eye on breeding.
(14) FRANKTON VIEW – Not a mark on the card of this November 2024 daughter of Grangeview Ten out of Queen Leona. Expected to progress nicely through the grades here in England and not likely to be seen at her best until later in the year.
(15) SUES PEARL – Just two races on the card of this July 2024 daughter of Dromana Bucko and Tiermana Jetty who is proven as a dam of top grade / open class. Pearl has much improvement to come on what is so far way below her true capabilities and this is expected to be demonstrated on sales day at Towcester. Connections believe this lady will shortly be competing in top grade / open class company. Without doubt one to watch.
(16) FERCULLEN SWIFT – August 2024 son of Ballymac Cashout and Dryland Sally who has regularly been producing open class. Swift has just the one run on his card and he was expected to win but a missed break ended his chance before the race had begun in earnest. That said he really took the eye with a display of great determination which saw him come powering through the pack in the latter stages to be beaten into second at Enniscorthy in a first round heat of the Future Champion Stake. Ideal for all the strong running tracks such as sales venue Towcester and a big run expected.
(17) CROSSFIELD TROY – August 2024 son of McInerney and Crossfield Linda who showed a huge amount of promise in what is the only trial on his card. Recorded a super 1776 around Tralee a run which very much marks him out as an open class prospect.
(18) CROSSFIELD ERNIE – Full brother to Troy and another member of the promising McInerney x Crossfield Linda litter making him a half brother to the sensational Crossfield Dusty. Has been burning up the gallops in recent schooling sessions and though he’ll undoubtedly find plenty of time for each passing run he’s another expected to go well on sales day.
(19) GLENGAR DASH – September 2024 daughter of Ballinabola Ed out of Ambey Bamby proven producer of strong running competition class sorts including 2025 Corn Cuchulainn Champion Braveheart Bambi and Clona Ice who finished runner up to Bambi in that aforementioned final before heading to the UK. Once here Ice reached the final of the Summer Stayers at Monmore having won her semi final and has also won opens over six bends at both Newcastle and Sunderland. Quality breeding and the sole competitive race form in a Tralee sprint can confidently be expected to be improved upon massively once stepped up in trip.
(20) THIS APPROACH (ex – MYSTICAL TUCKER) – Strong running open class performer who has a nice touch of early pace and on his most recent start finished third in the semi final of the Irish Cesarewitch 600 at Mullingar. Trial run of 2817 around Limerick was backed up with a 2822 race win around the same venue whilst this super son of Grangeview Ten and Mystical Luna also has a 2834 trial effort on the card at Shelbourne Park. Quality performer and one that will be competing in high class affairs here in England.
(21) BALLYHIMIKIN MEG – Not a single mark on the card of this September 2024 daughter of Good News and Ballyhimikin Liz who is a full unraced sister to the superstar performer Crafty Shivoo winner of the Irish Oaks in 2023 and the Empress Stakes at sales venue Towcester in the same year. In 2024 Shivoo went on to land the Laurels at Cork cementing herself as one of the fastest bitches seen on a track in recent years. Meg has been schooling well and has the bloodlines to suggest a brood career is more than a distinct possibility.
(22) GOOD CARVELA – Unraced and not a mark on the card of this September 2024 daughter of Good Cody out of Good Arminta who being a daughter of Ballymac Arminta is obviously very closely related to many top open and competition class performers. Sales day trial will be of interest but word from the shrewd Kennedy team back home is that she’s a very nice type with a promising career ahead of her.
(23) ROMANTIC BINGO (ex – HEORIC GHOST) – June 2024 son of Coolavanny Hoffa and Stonepark Molly who already has a decent 1856 trial win on the card at Drumbo Park. One for the graded scene but has a touch of pace about him and likely to land new connections a nice touch.
(24) BARNFIELD VENUS – July 2024 son of Burgess Bucks who is open to any amount of improvement over the coming months. Excuses when well beaten in the only race on his card but has proven his well being with a decent 2965 trial since at Cork. Will prove a useful addition to any graded kennel here in England.
(25) FLASHING CHIEF – Promising unraced September 2024 son of Newinn Taylor out of Global Prima finalist in the Thurles Champion Bitch Stake and English Oaks of 2022. A super ten length winner of the only trial on his card in 2924 around Clonmel which very much marks him out as a youngster of extreme promise.
(26) FLASHING FIONA – Unraced October 2024 daughter of King Sheeran and Coolavanny Poppy an open class bitch in her own right and counting many open and competition class performers amongst her close relations. Fiona has a 2953 trial on the card at Tralee and looks like grading in nicely here in England where she should soon be winning her share.
(27) DAIRYLAND MAEVE – Not a mark on the card of this December 2024 daughter of Signet Ace and Spooks Me who is an unraced daughter of the competition class producing dam Palermo. Spooks Me has produced some nice open class sorts in her litters to date but word from back home is that this litter are a cut above and schooling trials from Maeve have taken the eye.
(28) BOMBAY HAWK – Experienced sort a July 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet. Winner of a good class A2 over 550 yards at Waterford last week running on strongly in an open class time of 2993. Nice ready made type who will be making his mark in good company here in England.
(29) MAIREADS DIAMOND – Super early paced open class performer by Droopys Sydney out of Clona Skye who is a four time race winner on Irish soil with times on the card such as 2826 and 2828 around Shelbourne Park. A July 2023 whelp this lad is all set for a big year here in England where he should be landing some very nice races in the coming months.
(30) LYNHO OZZIE – June 2024 son of Ballymac Cashout who is very lightly raced with just two competitive starts on the card and a winner of the last of those in 2981 at Drumbo Park. Has since trialled around Kilkenny in 2936 so coming forward and looks sure to be paying his way on the graded scene.
(31) DROOPYS DRAFT – Stunning October 2024 prospect from the Droopys team. A son of Droopys Flytline out of Droopys Dancer the open class daughter of Droopys Sylvia who has consistently been producing open and competition class offspring since retiring to the breeding paddocks. Counting superstar performers such as Droopys Kathleen amongst her progeny the breeding is undoubtedly there and word from the team back home is that Draft looks all set to make into a high class performer.
(32) DROOPYS MARS – Another from the Droopys team without a mark on her card this daughter of Coolavanny Hoffa and Droopys Filly looks an exciting type both for her forthcoming track career and for breeding further down the line. Mars is a full sister to the hugely promising Droopys Vicar who sold for £10,200 at the Sheffield sale and landed his first round heat of the Monmore Puppy Derby prior to finishing second in his semi final last weekend to qualify for the prestigious final. A super prospect in her own right but being so well related the breeding possibilities will no doubt be of quite some appeal.
(33) CONFIFDENT JOSIE – February 2024 daughter of Grangeview Ten who is yet to win in Ireland but has a number of promising efforts on the card including a strong running 2880 effort at Tralee not too long ago. Can definitely move through the gears and may well improve for a change of scenery.
(34) CONFIDENT LEIF – This October 2023 son of Grangeview Ten is a real pacey sort with some high class efforts already on the card. A winner of his last two with a super 2123 around Dundalk followed up with a 2871 at Tralee. Early pace like that which Leif possesses will see him winning plenty and in against good class opposition too.
(35) CLONA CHASE (ex – GLENGAR TURBO) – Two races , two wins. Quite simply this July 2024 son of Deerjet Sydney out of Nice Mystery falls firmly into the ‘could be anything category’. A winner of his first round Future Champion and Michael Fortune Memorial Stake first round in 2914 was followed up with second round success in 2924. Having qualified for racing in 2872 and 2899 at Tralee it’s clear to see that this talented youngster is one that will provide his new connections with plenty fun over the next few years.
(36) BALLINABOLA COOL – July 2024 son of Glengar Bale who has been well beaten in his two career starts to date. Shaped with much more promise in schooling trials and when posting 2948 around Enniscorthy than he has shown competitively so far. Will need to improve but this wide seeded type is one that somebody with a bit of patience could find rewards them given a little time.
(37) CROSSFIELD DEAN – August 2023 son of Droopys Sydney and Crossfield Linda who has some sensational runs on the card in Ireland including 2822 around Tralee in the semi final of the Eric Browne Memorial Kingdom Derby. Ready made sort for opens and competitions here in England and fully expected to put up a real good display on sales day at Towcester.
(38) CROSSFIELD CONNI – May 2024 daughter of Dromana Bucko out of Crossfield Feena who looked every inch a stayer in the making when coming from last to first not too long ago when winning at Tralee in 2951. Stamina laden with her best days very much ahead of her.
(39) FRANKTON FLAME – Not a mark on the card of this July 2024 son of Grangeview Ten and Giddyup Maggie an open class winning bitch who reached the final of The Droopys Stud Champion Bitch Open 525 Final at Thurles in 2024. Schooling reports have been promising and well worth casting an eye on her sales day trial.
(40) BLANEMORE DUKE – Unraced June 2024 open race prospect who posted 2896 when winning the only trial on his card recently at Tralee. A son of Doolin Duke out of Beaming Becca a top grade performer over four bends who landed a six bend novice open at Limerick. Could be anything with staying definitely on the agenda once fully matured.
(41) GOT IT OPEN – Unraced September 2024 bitch by Droopys Got It out of Wide Open. The Matthews team report that this lady has plenty of pace but will be seen to best effect over trips up to around 450m at Oxford and the likes of 400m Romford. Super early pace but maybe finds that last few yards of the tougher four bend trips a little beyond her optimum.
(42) GONE TO DRAFT – Another super prospect from the home of the Newry Maestro Brendan Matthews this August 2024 daughter of Signet Ace out of Press Unlock landed heat and final of a decent sprint competition at Lifford over the past couple of weeks. Beating off kennel mate My Eyes Only by a neck in 1762 it was a super run from one so young and this youngster looks sure to be making his mark here in England in double quick time.
(43) DAIRYLAND JIMMY – Not a single mark on the card of this super prospect from the December 2024 litter of Signet Ace and Spooks Me. Hailing from a kennel no stranger to providing high class performers to the UK market Jimmy looks an above average sort whose schooling trials have caught the eye of all those in attendance.
(44) DAIRYLAND ACE – Full brother to Jimmy and again has been showcasing plenty of pace throughout his rearing and more recently at the schooling track. Sure to be an interesting trial between the pair.
(45) DROOPYS PAINTING – Pace to burn this September 2023 son of Droopys Flytline and Droopys Meteor is already a two time race winner in Ireland winning on debut at Shelbourne last June in a quite stunning 2813 and winning last time out over the Irish Derby trip at the same venue in 2954. A high class animal of that there is no doubt and will prove a very exciting acquisition to whichever kennel he ends up at come the end of sales day.
(46) TARANIS QAROUAL (ex – QUAROUAL) – April 2024 son of Dromana Bucko out of Aayamza Dream who got her career off to the best possible start when easily winning at Tralee last October in 2882. Not really kicked on since then and looks as if a fresh start here in England will prove of benefit. Could very well turn into one of the bargains of the day if new connections can find the key.
(47) SUES JETTY – What a prospect this July 2024 daughter of Dromana Bucko and Tiermana Jetty is. Only just coming to hand after her first season she’s now won her last two coming from behind to win in 2964 at Galway before coming on massively posting a sensational 2885 in a front running demolition job around the same venue on her latest start. Plenty left to come this lady is without doubt a top open class prospect who could end up staying once fully matured.
(48) RATHMEEHAN BUCKO – September 2024 son of Dromana Bucko who looks like making into a solid graded sort for new connections. Moderate enough best trial time to date of 3017 at Galway but would likely have dipped well under the 30 second barrier at most other Irish venues.
(49) GOOD TEDDY – Stunning prospect from the Kennedy team this blue fawn greyhound is a son of Ballyhimikin Jet out of Good Diva a top open class performer in her own right and hailing from Jaytee Sahara obviously counts many other open and competition class types amongst her close relations. Has been showcasing plenty of promise during his rearing and schooling and now looks highly likely to make his presence known on English soil before long.
(50) GOOD ALICE – March 2024 bitch from the Kennedy team with just two races under her belt. Plenty left in the locker of this daughter of Ballymac Cashout and Amazing Alice and without doubt will be competing in the higher grades as a minimum. Nice type and has definite brood potential further down the line too.
RESERVES
(A) BALLINABOLA LARA – October 2024 bitch out of Dolls Lady the dam of Ballinabola Ed. Two races on the card have been moderate but breeding suggests she should improve and would be well worth a chance of a litter.
(B) BALLINABOLA ZOLA (ex – AVENUE EILEEN) – July 2024 daughter of Glengar Bale whose qualifying trial of 2930 suggests she should be leaving the form of her first two career races well behind in the not too distant future.
(C) BALLYNORAN GIRL – October 2024 daughter of McInerney who showed a moderate level of form in the only competitive race thus far on her card but can only improve.
(D) EPIC HERMES – One from Team Kennedy an unraced September 2024 member of the Good Cody x Good Arminta litter. Fair degree of ability shown in schooling and an interesting one to watch if he were to show up on sales day.
(E) GROUCHOS GREGOR (ex – BALLYMAC COTTER) – Proven open class son of Ballymac Cooper who has some terrific runs on the card in Ireland including a super 2978 win at Galway over the 550 yard trip not too long ago.
(F) HATFIELD CLAIRE – May 2024 bitch who is a three time winner in Ireland. By Grangeview Ten out of Droopys Claire this young lady has a best of 2932 on the card in a mid grade race at Waterford.
(G) MUCKY MURTY (ex – CAPTAIN BUCKO) – Moderate level of form shown in his career but did get off the mark last time out in 1860 in a Cork sprint. Will pay his way on the graded scene.
(H) TONNTA – Unraced June 2024 bitch out of Mon Amie who posted 2962 at Cork in what is so far the only four bend trial on her card. That suggests she should hit the higher grades with the usual amount of natural improvement over the coming months.
