A total of 22 greyhounds were present in the October Greyhound Trader online auction which went live last Friday evening.
There was a wide variety of greyhounds on offer – with sprinters, race winners and pups as young as October 2023 available for the public to bid on. At the top of the pile was DELIVEROOO, a May 2023 son of Ballymac Bolger and Dolce Vita who qualified at Shelbourne Park in 28:89s. Despite making £12,700, his reserve of £15,000 wasn’t met and so he went unsold.
Selling however was CHASING SUPER who was a 28:60s race winner at Clonmel as recently as last Tuesday. Finishing at £2950, the son of Explosive Boy is heading to Sheffield under the leadership of Michael Field.
RONNIES OSCAR was another greyhound to sell, going for £2000. Joining Alfie Herbert’s kennels at Central Park, the unraced January 2023 dog looks ideal for the short journey over to Romford.
Also selling for £2000 was MANDELA. A May 2023 puppy from Magical Poppy’s first litter, his 29:46s trial at Shelbourne Park last Friday evening clearly impressed his purchaser who has sent him into training with Gary Beadle.
In total, 8 of the 22 greyhounds sold (36%) for a sum of £12,300. Good luck to all purchasers with their new greyhounds!
