The next online auction is upon us and 20 new greyhounds will be made available to the public for bidding at 6pm this evening!
The stand-out pair are LUCKY DUKE, who boasts some impressive winning form such as 28.59 in Limerick, and MUSTANG CARLOS who is a young April 2025 pup who qualified in 29.14 at Shelbourne Park.
There is a mixture of UK and Irish based greyhounds this weekend and as ever the bidding will close at 6pm on Sunday evening (2nd August).

[1] BALLINABOLA BAZ – White and fawn October 2024 son of Deerjet Sydney and Dolls Lady who is twice a winner at Enniscorthy including an impressive debut 29.17 debut performance at the Wexford venue. Baz has shown a nice foot of early pace in the majority of his races but has evidently been finding the tough Enniscorthy venue slightly too much and would be well suited to a quicker 480m venue such as Monmore or the shorter options of Sunderland and Star Pelaw. Half-brother to superstar Ballinabola Ed.[2] BALLINABOLA FAYE – Superbly bred white and black July 2024 daughter of Droopys Sydney and Ballymac Freya who got her second victory at the same Enniscorthy venue just last Monday night when winning in a time of 29.54 (-20). Faye similarly looks more of a speedster type having shown early pace and track craft from inside draws to often lead into the turn. Monmore, Dunstall, Sunderland and Star Pelaw could be where she excels.
[3] BALLINABOLA TODD – A unique White and Dun July 2024 dog bred Deerjet Sydney x Ballinabola Ruby boasts an impressive 40% strike rate at Enniscorthy having won 4 races from 10. The standout of these was certainly on just his 2nd ever start when he won in a time of 28.90 on the clock which is most impressive at this tough running venue. Subsequent wins in 29.09, 19.17 and 29.30 suggests that Todd is an above average greyhound and he looks versatile between 480-500m venues.
[4] CLODCAR BAMBY – Black and white September 2024 daughter of Ballinabola Ed and Ambey Bamby who in her short racing career to date has already produced open class form in Tralee. This came through an eye-catching 30.95 win over the 570y trip at the Kerry venue which was also the host of her winning 28.90 debut performance. Everything suggests that Bamby will prove to be a nice staying prospect in the UK, following in the footsteps of her half-siblings Clona Ice and Braveheart Bambi who won the Corn Cuchulainn in Ireland.
[5] CROSSFIELD DEAN – August 2023 son of Droopys Sydney and Crossfield Linda who was a previous £7400 purchase at the Towcester Pre-Derby sales having won his trial in 29.36 on the day. A subsequent 28.65 winning trial at Newcastle set Dean up for a successful UK career but hasn’t been able to get off the mark in his 3 starts to date. Due to trial today at Newcastle, Dean could very much still fulfill his potential with a change in kennel.
[6] DEELISH CHASE – A September 2024 son of Ballyhimikin Jet and Crafty Jayko who will have his first official trial this evening in Cork. Not much can be said about this pup yet until then but his litter mates have made a nice impression so far with Deelish Rocky being a 29.11 winner in Cork whilst he is also a half relation to the Graham Holland trained Low Profile who has won at SPK in a fast 28.18.
[7] GROUCHOS ALVIN – A hugely exciting December 2024 son of Grouchos Duke and Kitmins Betty who has some top form to name for an unraced pup. Matched up against one of Irelands most promising pups in Grouchos Chief (28.10 SPK) in his very first trial, Alvin was beaten but recorded a more than respectable 19.26 at Shelbourne Park for his first visit to the flagship venue. Back on home soil in Limerick recently, Alvin contested a competitive trial with his litter-brother where he was beaten again but by just 3 lengths this time whilst recording 29.07 for his first time over 525y. What makes this more impressive is when you see the trial recording (will be attached to full listing), having missed the break completely and running wildly off the first bend. Firmly fits into the could be anything category with the clear expectations from current connections that he will be competing at open level at the minimum.
[8] HANDS OF STONE – White and black September 2024 daughter of Tommy Shelby and Baran Lucy who has just the one qualifying mark to her name which is a winning 17.22 sprint trial at Kilkenny. Said to be doing better unofficially, this bitch fits in the could be anything category. It is perhaps worth taking note that her dam Baran Lucy is a half-sister to the likes of Broadstrand Syd, Droopys Trade and Slick Sentinel.
[9] LUCKY DUKE – High-class October 2024 son of Grouchos Duke and Courty Girl who has shown immense promise to date. Having won in 28.68 on just his second ever start in Cork, Duke followed this on with two impressive runs which were an 18.78 sprint trial at SPK and then a 28.59 race win inside Limerick. Noted as one of the brightest prospects in Ireland at the time, things haven’t gone his way with trouble in racing of recent but a messy 29.07 race victory in Shelbourne backed up with a 28.55 solo trial in Limerick confirms the talent is still there. With his age, Duke looks the ideal type to be bought and aimed at the upcoming £10,000 Romford Puppy Cup before his continues his career across the country in other top competitions.
[10] MUSTANG CARLOS – The second youngest in this weekend’s online auction, this April 2025 son of Tuono Charlie and Magnetism looks a very exciting pup for the future having qualified last weekend for the first time with a resounding 8 length winning trial in 29.14. A fantastic opening mark for just a 15 month old pup who has been likened as a strong staying type similar to his sire Tuono Charlie. With any natural improvement which would be expected of a pup at this age, Carlos will certainly be breaking 29 seconds in his next trial and should no doubt make a nice open class puppy prospect being eligible for both the Northern Puppy Derby at Newcastle and the PGR Puppy Derby at Monmore.
[11] POLITICAL ENEMY – A nice looking February 2025 son of Good Cody and Killenaulerocket who has had two qualifying trials to date, winning them both. His first was a 17.14 sprint at Clonmel back in April and improvement has since been made as he qualified in 29.77 at Waterford last Saturday night. A young and genuine graded prospect who will more than pay his way at a decent grade.
[12] SAFE VISION – June 2024 daughter of Ballymac Cashout and Jacinta who is currently running at Newcastle under the care of Tom Helibron. She has been slowly introduced back following a seasonal rest between March and July and rewarded her current owner with a nice 29.22 win at the Northern venue last week. Unfortunately her muzzle got caught in the traps just last night as explained in her race comments when she was expected to step forward again in an A3. Boasting decent Irish form too, she would be a sensible buy for anyone looking for a bitch to race in the top grades with the bond and transport already paid for.
[13] SALEEN ACTION – October 2024 son of Airmount Nando and Saleen Royce who was ultra impressive just last weekend at Tralee when proving to be 6 lengths to the better in a 28.81 race victory. He showed an enormous engine in this race, only taking up proceedings at the 3rd bend before steering clear of the field. Not 2 years old until October and already at A1 level in Ireland, there is every chance this dog will be running open class in the future and looks well-suited to join the likes of Hove, Nottingham or Towcester.
[14] SALEEN BLOOM – A hugely exciting young January 2025 home-bred daughter of Saleen Jet and Saleen Destiny who couldn’t have got off to a better start with an easy 8 length debut win in 29.03 at Tralee. Going into the first bend level with an opponent, it was what Bloom did from halfway to home which will attract plenty of bidders. She was 2nd fastest of all greyhounds in the ON3 competition at Tralee where competition is fierce with many a good greyhound being bred in this area of Ireland. Still just an 18 month old baby with 1 race to her name, there should be the expectation for plenty of improvement from this bitch who will again suit all of the 500m venues.
[15] STORMY SHELBY – An April 2024 son of Tommy Shelby and Bonito Fox who not long ago was purchased through the online auction platform having won in 28.75 at Tralee. After just two runs at Sunderland he is back for sale. He finished 2nd on both occasions, both in sprints, whilst being sent of 5/6F. If translating his 28.72 and 28.75 winning form of Tralee over to 4-bends in the UK, he could represent a shrewd buy for someone now at a discounted price.
[16] SUNNYSIDE JAYDEN – July 2023 son of Coolavanny Hoffa and Yahoo Ava who has done plenty of running in the UK to date, holding an incredible record of 26 wins from 66 starts (impressive 39% strike rate). His most notable wins have come at Sunderland with a best time of 15.42 but perhaps we haven’t yet been able to see the best of Jayden who has been strictly kept to the Northern venues. Just turned 3 years old this month, he clearly loves racing and has had an injury-free career which makes him most appealing. One would suspect there is still lots of racing to be had with sprinters often able to last longer in the game and Jayden would be a great purchase for a kennel looking to compete in the Scurry Gold Cup and National Sprint.
[17] SWIFT KRAB – A good opportunity to purchase a ready-made open class June 2024 son of Signet Ace and Swift Ellen who has proven himself to be very versatile. An A1 winner at Central Park last week over 491m in 29.16, he also has plenty of good sprinting form with a career highlight being his very fast 16.05 D1 win at the same venue. A 3-times open race winner too who has only just turned 2 years old, he looks the perfect type for those wanting to get their foot in at open level with Krab being based in the UK already with Dan Brabon. Would be a smart purchase.
[18] TASSIE TED – August 2023 son of Serene Ace and Tassie Princess who has failed to translate his very promising Enniscorthy form over to the UK having won an ON1 competition at the Wexford venue in 28.90. Ted was a winner of a D3 content at Newcastle in mid-July but was purchased with the intention to go open racing. Turning 3 years old in August and with just 15 races under his belt, he should still represent value as a good grader over sprint trips or at somewhere like Romford.
[19] TOBERGAL MILLIE – The youngest in this weekend’s online auction, this fawn May 2025 daughter of Dromana Bucko and Tobergal Diamond presents a nice opportunity to acquire a long-term grader. Millie has had just one qualifying trial to date which was 30.41 at Waterford last weekend. Classed as A9 and placing her into ON3 grade, she doesn’t look a world beater but certainly holds her value as a grader having already done graded time at the tender age 0f 14 months old. Improvement is a given at this stage and it would be no surprise to see her work her way through the grades with experience.
[20] WHY SO BLUE – September 2024 son of Ballymac Bolger and Jades Beauty who was a race winner just last night at Enniscorthy in a very respectable 29.55 (-20). He dominated from the front in this race and was not for catching, winning by a comfortable distance of 4 lengths. His litter-sister was sold on this same site after finishing 2nd in 29.33 at the same venue and has since gone on to win A3 so far at Hove. There wouldn’t be much in it between the two which gives us a guide as to what to expect from this dog.
