A steady online auction with 4 greyhounds sold out of 17 available.
Topping the sale was Hot Wood who sold for £5000. An older type as a February 2022 whelp, this son of Airmount Nando had been seen last in the 3rd round of the BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby and it was his obvious level of ability that caught the eye of so many. Selling at his reserve price, he will head over to Newcastle on Tuesday with all preparations being geared towards the upcoming All England Cup.
Next best to sell was Ballymac Drasher who sold for £4500. Just a May 2024 unraced pup from the Liam Dowling kennels, the son of Ballymac Finn and Ballymac Minton could yet prove to be anything and with a first qualifying mark on 29.53 to his name the future looks bright. He joins the kennels of Swindon handler Shaun Gresham.
Ballymac Kokoro was another to sell at £3000 this time. A sister to the aforementioned Ballymac Drasher, this bitch is already a race winner at Tralee in 29.30 and will be a new addition to Dean Blackbirds kennels.
Lastly, Drombeg Angel sold for £1650 to the kennels of Paul Rutherford. An October 2023 daughter of Grangeview Ten, her latest victory at Galway in 29.25 left a good impression and she looks one to potentially follow over 6-bends.
In total 4 out 0f 17 greyhounds sold (24%) for a total of £14,150.
