The latest Greyhound Trader online auction, held throughout September, proved another successful event, with twelve greyhounds finding new owners and a total of £37,300 changing hands.

With 25 greyhounds offered to the public for bidding, there was a wide variety of options available, from proven performers to promising young prospects. It was the established stayer Razldazl Bluesky who ultimately topped the sale, selling for an impressive £8,300.

The November 2024 son of Droopys Scolari has twice won over 730 yards at Waterford, and that proven staying ability was enough to convince the David Titterton-led syndicate to secure his services. Bluesky will now head to Nathan Hunt at Monmore, where he will begin the next chapter of what promises to be an exciting UK career.

His litter sister Razldazl Rumi was another to attract strong interest, eventually selling for £4,100. A 28.59 winner at Shelbourne Park only recently, the November 2024 daughter of Droopys Scolari will now join the kennels of Frank Gray and his Makeit Syndicate.

Dolores Ruth completed a clean sweep of her three lots, with the unraced Razldazl Seal selling for £4,050. The April 2025 son of Dorotas Wildcat had caught the eye with a smart 29.03 trial at Shelbourne Park, attracting plenty of attention during the auction before Lewis Clark emerged as the successful bidder. Seal will now go into training in the UK with Nathan Hunt as he looks to build on his promising early indications with a long-term plan of the £20,000 Monmore Puppy Derby.

Lewis Clark was also successful post-auction in securing the talented Saleen Percy for a fee of £7,500. A 28.55 winner on his only racecourse appearance to date at Tralee, the October 2024 son of Airmount Nando caught the eye during the auction and has now found a new home. He will continue his career in the UK in the hands of Rose Draper.

Vendor Patrick O’Connor was another to enjoy a successful auction, selling all three of his lots entered into the sale. Saleen Joy (£1,500), Saleen Barry (£1,550) and Saleen Alainn (£1,200) have all been secured by new owners and will be making the journey across the Irish Sea to the UK next week.

Honzik was another standout sale after an intense late bidding battle saw his price rise to £4,350. The January 2025 son of Grangeview Ten already has a 28.83 victory at Limerick on his card and will join the ranks of Ted Soppitt. With his early pace likely to be well suited to tracks such as Sunderland and Star Pelaw, he looks a nice addition to the kennel.

A couple of the value purchases of the sale included Sallagh Donald for £1,900 and Taylormade Allin for £1,400. The unraced duo both have encouraging trials to their names and should provide plenty of entertainment and excitement for their new connections.

In total, 12 of the 25 greyhounds offered were sold, giving a 48% clearance rate, with the successful sales generating a combined £37,300.
