It’s ladies’ night on the south coast this weekend, with Hove staging the final of the £10,000 Coral Brighton Belle.
The 515m event, restricted to bitches, headlines a brilliant card live on RPGTV with the trap draw expected to play a huge part in how the final unfolds.
Matt Dartnall’s LIVELY LAUREN, who coped with a treacherous draw out in trap five in her semi-final when pouncing late to score, dons the red jacket this week and it is hoped that the powerful fawn railer can yet again come out on top.
The £6000 Greyhound Trader Online Auction purchase last month lowered the track record over 650m at Oxford and is well suited to this stiff four-bend trip at Hove, which was evident in her gutsy success last week.
Only just turned two years old, the well-bred Ballymac Anton x Art of Illusion daughter has been a dream to own for Joe Andrews and Andrew Pritchard who have already experienced life in Category One finals with first purchase Annual Sydney also reaching the £20,000 Monmore Puppy Derby and finishing runner-up.
The biggest danger to Lauren going one better than Sydney may end up being the well-drawn British Bred No Rush, who is the sole wide seed and should enjoy plenty of racing room from out wide in trap six.
Greyhound Trader wishes the best of luck to all connected!
