The most recent Greyhound Trader online auction was a hugely popular event with an amazing 15 greyhounds finding new owners.
With a catalogue of 26 greyhounds on offer, there were plenty of options for onlooking bidders of all budgets and this was clearly appreciated by the mass.
Topping the sale at £10,650 is the unraced UNREPLACEABLE from the famed Townview kennels. An October 2024 son of Pestana and Unlock Unlock whose only trial is an 18.86 sprint at Shelbourne Park, he heads to the kennels of Laura Pruhs for what will hopefully be an exciting career in open company.
ACCEPT ORDECLINE was another sale for the Matthews family outfit. Sold for £7000 off the back of his recent 28.55 victory at Shelbourne Park, the September 2024 son of Droopys Got It will soon be under the care of David Lewis who has already seen success when purchasing off this same vendor with Alright Precious (ex My Eyes Only) now into the final of the Greyhoundtrader.com Stakes.
Another high-profile sale was that of STORMY SHELBY who sold for £6500. The April 2024 son of Australian sire Tommy Shelby has won two-on-the-bounce at Tralee including a 28.48 victory a fortnight ago. He will be joining Ted Soppitt at Newcastle with a target of all the prestigious competitions in the North of England.
January 2025 brother and sister IVY HILL ARCHIE and IVY HILL ARIEL also sold, before meeting their reserves. Ariel looks of particular note to follow in the future as she begins her racing career in the hands of Dan Brabon following her 28.97 qualifying trial at Cork.
In total, 15 of the 26 greyhounds sold at a clearance rate of 58% and for a total of £53,200.
