The annual Greyhound Trader Stakes gets underway next weekend on Saturday 18th June for 12 greyhounds with an increased winners prize money of £1500 plus an additional £500 to the vendor of the winning greyhound.
As part of Greyhound Trader’s commitment to giving back, the sponsored stake provides a great opportunity to many owners who have bought from the sales in the UK to enjoy a night of racing on the biggest of stages.
Greyhounds sold at any Greyhound Trader track sales, in our online auctions or privately all qualify for the stake and entries are being taken now by the Towcester Racing Manager James Chalkley.
Whilst 12 greyhounds will take their chance at the Greyhound Trader Stakes, there will be 4 others who are tied up to other competitions which will prevent them from running.
Savana Beau – What a thrill this greyhound has provided to Kevin Boothby taking him all the way to the English Greyhound Derby Semi-Final having been purchased at our Towcester ‘Pre-Derby’ sales in March. A strong running type, Beau will be looking to qualify for the Derby final and provide Greyhound Trader with what will certainly be their greatest sales success. Beau is also still in contention for claiming the £10,000 GAIN Bonus if he goes on to do the unprecedented feat of winning the Derby.
Savana Camino – Sold via our Online Auction platform, the former Ballymac dog was the winner of Heat 2 in the Sportystuff TV Puppy Cup at 6/1 when running on strongly to claim victory in a time of 29.64.
Chelms Fred – Sold privately, Fred was a convincing winner of Heat 2 of the RPGTV Derby Plate in a time of 29.23. Sent off a 6/4F, the son of Confident Rankin led all the way off a 4.05 sectional, before finishing over 2 lengths clear of his rivals.
Chelms Switch – Again sold Privately, the former Droopys dog qualified in 2nd place at odds of 11/1 in Heat 4 of the RPGTV Derby Plate to secure his place in the draw for the Semi-Finals next week.
Greyhound Trader wishes all our greyhounds the best of luck in what will be a fantastic couple nights of racing next weekend at Towcester.
