Another sales goes well at Towcester as the average price of £2197 may suggest!

The day set off to a somewhat cloudy start with Towcester Racecourse being covered by heavy fog meaning a 45 minute delay to trials, however the day quickly brightened to everyone’s delight and 21 trials consisting of 40 greyhounds for sale took centre stage for the rest of the day.

Top lot of the day was Foxwood Hondo, for Paul Matthews, who sold for £5600 having been looking to go well before the hare was stopped in the interests of safety when the other dog in the trial jumped the inside rail and started to cut across the middle to rejoin the trial.

Pat Buckley’s charge Barneys Road went fastest of the day, running an impressive 29.95, and will be heading to Romford under trainer Paul Young and looks to be a very exciting and value purchase for new connections.

Other notable sales on the day were Russian Sammy (£5400), Tromora Rain (£5000) and Reggie Rua (£4400).

Our next sale is an additional one to our schedule and will be at Henlow on Wednesday 3rd November.
