Another successful sale for Greyhound Trader at Doncaster as buyers came in the plenty for the large catalogue put together.

The second sale of the new Greyhound Trader sales business was held just yesterday at Doncaster and proved to be popular yet again with people wanting new greyhounds. 39 out of the 45 (87%) greyhounds put up for sale were sold for a total of £52,650.

Top lot was Romeo Tornado who fetched £7,000 after producing an eye-catching 29.87 run despite seeming to leave a bit on the track. The young dog out of Coolavanny Pearl, making him a half brother to the likes of Newinn Session and Doolin Duke, was sold to Lee Harris and joined John Mullins at Towcester.

Lee Harris also went in for the second highest sold lot of the day, Waikiki Getaway, after he stopped the clock at 30.00 in the last trial of the day. Peter Cronin was just one of the new vendors at the Doncaster sale as we expand our vendor list to ensure there was a good number of greyhounds available on the day for everyone to find something.

James Corden says “We are really happy with how today went and feel like this was definitely an improvement for the customer experience from the previous Towcester sale. The feedback we got from that, both positive and negative, was helpful for us going into the Doncaster sale and I think we took a lot of this on board.”

With Richard Walsh taking over the auctioneer role at Doncaster, James continues to say “I think Richard did an amazing job today and really bought the auction to life not only in the room, but also with those watching and bidding online. During the auction I noticed everyone was commenting on how good he was so I think people must have appreciated him in what is a tough job!”

Greyhound Trader have done a slight reshuffle to the sales calendar due to the cancellation of the Central Park sale which meant bringing the Doncaster sale forward. The new dates are:

Monmore – 15th July

Romford – 25th August

Towcester – 9th October

We now look forward to preparing for the Monmore sale on Thursday 15th July and will strive to produce a good quality catalogue for all.
